Hibiscus is the smaller of the two islands behind the Palm Island guard gate, dredged out of Biscayne Bay in the 1920s and laid out as a single grid of about two hundred lots. The perimeter streets back onto water. The causeway ramp to South Beach is two minutes away.
One bridge leaves the MacArthur Causeway and lands on Palm Island, where a manned gate controls access. A second, shorter crossing leads to Hibiscus. Traffic on the island is residents, their listed guests and service vehicles, nothing else, which is why the streets stay empty enough for kids to ride bikes down the middle of them.
The island is small enough to walk end to end in fifteen minutes. Perimeter lots have seawall frontage and private docks with direct access to Government Cut, so a boat can be in open ocean in under ten minutes. Interior lots trade the dock for a larger yard.
Houses here range from restored 1930s Mediterranean properties to new construction with glass walls facing the water. The typical Hibiscus Island villa carries a pool, a dock, covered outdoor dining and staff quarters, with bedroom counts starting around five.
Jatina Group has no home of its own on Hibiscus at present. The closest villas we manage are a few minutes away across the causeway, and the staffing is identical wherever a group lands: a house manager, daily housekeeping and a chef in place before arrival, with security details, drivers and provisioning arranged on notice. Gate clearance for guests and vendors is handled in advance.
South Beach begins where the causeway ends. Sunset Harbour and Lincoln Road are five minutes east, Ocean Drive and the Art Deco blocks a little further. Turn west instead and downtown Miami is five minutes across the bay, with Brickell just beyond it.
The cruise terminals sit directly across the channel, close enough to watch ships leave from the south-facing docks. Miami International is about twenty minutes by way of I-395. The Miami Beach Marina and the Fisher Island ferry are both under ten minutes for anyone joining a charter rather than leaving from the house.
We do not currently manage a home inside Hibiscus Island. These are the closest villas in our collection, all within a short drive.
Access is controlled at a single gate on Palm Island, and the only vehicles that reach Hibiscus are residents, their listed guests and service crews. There are no hotels, shops or through roads on it. Any island stay we service comes with the gate list filed before check-in, so nobody gets turned around at the bridge.
Most waterfront homes here have private dockage and several take substantial vessels, though beam, draft and channel depth vary property to property. Star Island has fewer, larger estates and its own gate directly off the causeway. Hibiscus has more homes on smaller lots and shares its entrance with Palm Island. Rates follow that difference. Groups who want the biggest waterfront lawn go to Star; groups who want a strong villa for less per night often choose Hibiscus.
