A two-mile strip of oceanfront towers between Haulover Cut and the Broward line, Sunny Isles Beach holds one of the densest runs of high-rise beachfront in South Florida. The sand is wide and the buildings are new. Aventura Mall sits ten minutes west over the Lehman Causeway.
The city runs from about 157th Street to 192nd, one long block wide, with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal on the other. Collins Avenue carries all of it. The towers along the sand are mostly recent, several built by international developers over the last twenty years, and nearly every unit faces water in one direction or the other.
Heritage Park and Gilbert Samson Oceanfront Park break up the wall of buildings on the beach side. The Newport Fishing Pier is open to the public and one of the few places on this coast to fish over deep water without a boat.
The stock here is oceanfront: high-floor apartments with balconies over the sand, building pools, gyms and spas, and beach service set up out front. Families come for the space and for the fact that the beach is a lift ride away rather than a drive and a parking hunt.
Jatina Group has no property of its own in Sunny Isles, and the nearest villas we manage are further south toward the causeways. The concierge side reaches this far without trouble: stocking before arrival, housekeeping, chefs cooking in the apartment, transfers, and boat days out of Haulover or Aventura with the inlet putting open ocean minutes away.
Haulover Park starts immediately south, with its marina, its kite surfers and the inlet bridge. Bal Harbour and the shops are five minutes further down Collins, and South Beach about twenty-five. Aventura, with the mall, a Brightline station and a hospital, is ten minutes west over the Lehman Causeway.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International is the practical airport at roughly twenty minutes north on I-95. Miami International is closer to forty. Guests staying two weeks or more often keep a car for the north-south runs and use rideshare locally, since Collins parking is tight.
We do not currently manage a home inside Sunny Isles Beach. These are the closest villas in our collection, all within a short drive.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, about twenty minutes north on I-95 and usually the easier arrival. Miami International is roughly forty minutes south depending on traffic. Both are covered by our transfer service, and the Brightline station in Aventura is ten minutes away for trips to Palm Beach or Orlando.
It suits them well. The beach is wide and lifeguarded, most buildings have pools and kids' rooms, and the residences are large enough for two families sharing. Haulover Park is five minutes south for kite surfing and boat rentals, and Aventura Mall covers a rainy afternoon without much of a drive.
Roughly twenty-five minutes down Collins Avenue outside peak hours, longer if you hit traffic through Bal Harbour and Mid-Beach. The drive itself is one of the better ones in Miami. Most guests staying here do one or two South Beach evenings and spend the rest of the trip on the local sand.
